Gov. Kemp announces reopening plans
Governor Brian Kemp announced in his April 20 press conference that Georgia’s economy was set to open. On April 24, business like gyms, bowling alleys, salons and some other indoor facilities can resume operations. Dine-in restaurants and movie theaters are set to open on April 27. All businesses must follow social distancing and other requirements set by the state.
While receiving backlash from the announcement, Kemp and Dr. Kathleen Toomey, the state public health commissioner, say that the plans comply with federal guidelines to reopen states from lockdowns.
