FCBOE Board Meeting - April

The Fulton County Board of Education met for their monthly board meeting at 6 p.m. on April 21, 2022.
  • Dr. Looney calls on Chief Academic Officer Cliff Jones to recognize students competing in the state track meeting and the Fulton schools performing arts program.

  • The board hears public comment. 

  • The board hears a presentation about elementary and middle school end of year testing options. 

  • Dr. Looney reads the motions for the closed session action items. The motion carried unanimously.

  • Dr. Looney reads the motion for the consent items. The motion carried unanimously. 

  • Chief Financial Officer Marvin Dereef starts presenting the discussion items and motions for the contracting report. 

  • District 5 Board Member Linda McCain asks if emails from citizens concerning the reports will be answered promptly. 

  • Dr. Looney states they will.

  • The contracting report carried unanimously

  • Dereef motions the budget report. 

  • Dereef adjusts a number in the budget report for the American Rescue plan. 

  • The budget report carried unanimously.

  • Dereef motions the banking resolution. The motion carried unanimously.

  • Dereef motions the employee travel report.

  • Dereef mentions that additional employees were added to the travel report. 

  • District 4 Board Member Franchesca Warren asks a question about the current procedures for travel regarding teachers having to pay out of pocket for school trips

  • Dereef states that the county tries to help teachers with hotel costs; however, airfare becomes a personal item if canceled.

  • The employee travel report carried unanimously

  • The information reports are presented. 

  • The meeting is adjourned.
