The sun sets over Northview’s baseball field. On the pitcher's mound stands Ayush Shetty. As Northview Baseball’s pitcher, third baseman, shortstop, and utility player, he is now signed to play for Case Western Reserve University.

Shetty started on the Junior Varsity team, but it took only one game for his skills to catch the attention of Varsity coaches. Shetty was called up to the Varsity roster and continues to showcase his speed pitches and unwavering commitment to the game.

Teammate Brad Chuo describes Shetty as a dedicated and passionate player. Chuo highlights how Shetty consistently goes above and beyond to support and uplift those around him.

"He's more of a lead-by-example kind of teammate,” Chuo said. “He's a great teammate because he's always there for everyone, and always trying to pick you up. "

Unlike some players who may take practices lightly, Shetty approaches every training session with a level of seriousness that is truly notable.

“His work ethic is probably one of the best I've ever coached. He is laser-focused,” Andy Alhadeff, varsity baseball assistant coach, said.

Shetty continuously shows his commitment to the game, and refining his skills played a role in Ayush's journey to success.

“He will sit there and know how to attack a hitter. He pitched in some of our biggest games last year, and he came out and dominated,” Coach Alhadeff said.

What sets Ayush apart is not just his commitment during organized team practices but also his initiative to go above and beyond.

"Northview organizes practice, but he's always asking if you guys wanna come practice outside of this at this time, or that time,” Chuo said. “You can just tell that he's passionate and hardworking; that's what makes him successful."

Ayush Shetty's story is not just one of individual accomplishment but also a narrative of teamwork, passion, and relentless pursuit of excellence.

“Ayush goes out every time he gets the ball and strives to be the best player on the field. He strikes that perfection, continues to learn to grow, and keeps getting better, ” Coach Aladeff said.
